Janette Press

Janette Press, founder and principal of Cirrus Accounting, LLC, a “cloud-based” accounting practice, helps entrepreneurs, small business owners and retailers harness accounting technologies to scale and grow their businesses more efficiently and effectively.

Jan came to accounting as a second career after earning her MBA from Alvernia University in 2008, and becoming a QuickBooks Intuit Certified ProAdvisor in 2009. Janette was an early adopter of Intuit accounting technologies. After buying her first Gateway computer in 1993 she began using Quicken and later QuickBooks Premier desktop for her husband’s contracting business and her own landscape design consulting businesses.

Like many small business owners who lack basic accounting knowledge, she embraced the Intuit marketing message that QuickBooks does the accounting for you. She quickly learned, however, that for many business owners understanding QuickBooks, let alone accounting, are daunting tasks needing more guidance and support than a tutorial or in-product help menu.

Recognizing her natural aptitude for accounting and technology, in 2010 she started Mobile Office Manager, a QuickBooks consulting business providing mobile bookkeeping and payroll services; then in 2016, after earning her CMA (• Certified Management Accountant ),she launched Cirrus Accounting. Today she provides QuickBooks training and support, out-sourced CFO services, bookkeeping, payroll and tax preparation to her small business clients.
